Candace Loubert

Candace is a dancer, visual artist, body worker and teacher and is trained in massage and shiatsu therapy. She is co-founder and former artistic director of LADMMI, a college level, professional, modern dance training program in Montreal where she has taught for twenty-five years. Her work in mask and creative development, in the core curriculum of the program, is the result of deep integrative personal research using various somatic techniques, dance/movement improvisation, authentic movement and expressive art techniques. She has been the recipient of two major senior arts grants from the Canada Council for the Arts since 1997, for research and documentation of her mask and creative process work, Body Focused Creative Resources.

Candace completed the Bodysoul Rhythms Leadership Training program and apprenticeship in Oct. 2003, with Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman and her colleagues Dr. Paula Reeves, Ann Skinner and Mary Hamilton. She is on the teaching faculty of the Marion Woodman Foundation (2004, 2005, 2006).

Candace leads workshops for women in Canada, the United States and in Ireland. She teaches with Dr Paula Reeves, psychotherapist from Atlanta, Georgia and author of Women's Intuition and Heart Sense. She works also in partnership with Jungian Analyst Marian Dunlea in both Ireland and in the Montreal area.

Candace brings to all her work, her deep connection to the wildness of nature, which she lives close to and her sensitivity to the pulse of movement song in the body. She shares through her teaching, her love of play with expressive artwork, movement and music with “children of all ages “in professional and personal development projects.
